Mavrodaphne / per bottle $24
Mavrodaphne is a sweet, full-bodied dark red dessert wine with medium acidity. Made from black grapes in the northern Peloponnese, it has the aroma and flavor of coffee, caramel, raisins, chocolate and plums - allowing it to pair well with cheese, nuts, pies and desserts that are made with cherries, apples, pecans, or apricots, biscotti, and vanilla ice cream.
Samos Muscat / per bottle $24
Samos Muscat is a sweet wine from the cooperative called Samos on the eastern Aegean island of the same name. It comes from low-yield Samian vineyards at high elevations. Gold in color, it has solid acidity and intense fruit flavors. In France, Samos wine is considered to be a highly regarded dessert wine.
Retsina / per bottle $20
Retsina is a distinct and special Greek white (or rosé) resinated wine, which has been made for at least 2,000 years. Its unique flavor is said to have originated from the practice of sealing wine vessels - particularly the clay amphorae - with Aleppo Pine resin in ancient times. Family wineries in Greece that specialize in Retsina still use the same techniques today.
